Veil Got You Twitchy?


Happy Spooky Season! We have a series of events happening spiritually, cosmically and even on an earth bound level that are sending the energetic currents in the air into tail spins. The thinning of the veil is something that happens pretty often throughout the year, but now is the time that is most commonly associated with paranormal activity really ramping up. This can create a bit of an issue for those of us who are sensitive or have ESP abilities. Just yesterday when I was walking through the shop from my office back to the main shop I had a mimic come right at me, impersonating the owner of the shop. To say I was thrown off and am still a little uneasy would be an understatement. During my morning walks I have had an uptick in spirits on my periphory, even my husband has been a little twitchy. I have had quite a few students, clients and friends of mine reaching out and asking what is going on.

What I'm saying is, you aren't alone. This is a pretty standard phenomenon for the time of year and will continue through October and into November. It is just being ampliphied by other events happening pretty universally. So, what do we do in order to get through the season with joy instead of wondering if we're suddenly haunted? Three simple techniques can help you with your sensitivity to energy and spirits.


1.) Grounding

Grounding is the idea of connecting our energetic body and our physical body. Often times,

especially in our go, go, go society, we end up becoming what I call ‘top heavy’ or too involved in our upper Chakras and then we become disconnected from our bottom halves or physical selves. When we are in heightened states of emotion we can also end up disconnected from our physical bodies. Staying grounded helps us stay balanced, connected and honestly more aware of our own wellness and surroundings.

Some grounding techniques:

Showering/bathing

Meditation/visualization

Mantra and prayer

Movement/stretching

Time outside/barefoot on the Earth/hug a tree

Carrying stones, herbs, talismans, etc.

Breathing exercises


2.) Clearing

Clearing is the removal of energy that we pick up in our day to day lives. Sometimes this can include attachements or entities that come along for the ride. It is important to clear your auric field regularly, but even more so this time of year.

Some clearing techniques:

Washing hands in cool water.

Clapping, snapping or stomping.

Dancing

Using smoke to clear the energetic field.

Earthing & time in the sun.

Salt baths

Showering and using visualization to let energy go.

Cord cutting


3.) Shielding

Shielding is a form of psychic protection work and for those of you out in the world it is

important. Shielding can be done in so many different ways and you really should pick the

method that you are comfortable with and that you will remember to stick to. We shield our

energy field in order to stop pesky bits of energy or even entities from getting into our space or our bubble as some may refer to it. It keeps unwanted and unsavory things from attaching tous.

Some shielding techniques:

Light/energy bubble

Setting boundaries verbally/mentally

Asking Guides/Higher Power for protection

Carrying stones, herbs, talismans, etc.

Veiling

The thinning of the veil doesn't have to be pesky. In fact I find it to be liberating and exciting in a lot of ways. Find ways to anchor yourself and use this time to get to know the spirit world, to work with liminal space in your practices and get the hang of your field. Sometimes this is when I get my most important work done. So take a breath, stop twitching and enjoy your spooky season!
